Artist Statement

Glenn Suokko is a painter and photographer.

“I am drawn depicting the representation and abstraction of nature and natural objects, the familiar and unfamiliar, the rendered object and the flat plain, and brief moments that are transitory and allusive.

I studied art and design at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. I love to roam through meadows and woodlands and to walk on the beach, down city streets, and through endless galleries in art museums. These experiences inspire me and lead to creative expression.

In my paintings and in my photographs I seek to offer quiet contemplation and to depict the serenity of the objects, landscape, and forests where I live and work in Woodstock, Vermont.”
